The Barbados Police Service provided the following update on the robbery at Channell Supermarket:
Police are also investigating what was reported as a robbery at the Channell supermarket, Black Rock, St. Michael . The incident was reported to have occurred about 315 pm on Wednesday, 12th April 2023.
Brief Facts
A man entered the establishment and stole a sum of money from a cashier as she opened her cash register. He was armed with a knife.
A security guard was injured as he intervened to stop the man’s escape. He was treated by two medical doctors who visited the scene. He was later transported to the hospital for medical attention. His injuries were listed as not serious.
The man escaped by running away.
Investigations continuing.
Original Post: Robbery at supermarket
The Barbados Police Service is investigating a robbery at Channell Supermarket today.
Lawmen from the Black Rock Station told Cbc News that around 3:15 p.m., a man entered the supermarket with a knife and approached a cashier and threw a plastic bag on the counter.
Police say the cashier ran and the man dipped his hand in the register, took money and fled through the front door.
