Minister of People Empowerment and Elder Affairs Kirk Humphrey says news of the passing of former Child Care Board head Phyllis Roett left him speechless.
In remembering her as a woman of dedication to the social work space, he says not only has he known her for a long time but they also had similar career paths.
He says she paved the way for what the department is now doing in terms of rationalising its services, because what she did with Eliseus Joseph remains a seminal piece of work in relation to amalgamations.
