Sections of HWY 7 closed due to paving

March 26, 2024

Barbabadians are asked to find alternative routes as Highway 7, from Top Rock to Maxwell Coast Road, Christ Church will be closed.

The closure is to allow Infra Construction Inc. to pave that section of road under the Ministry of Transport and Works’ Accelerated Mill and Pave Programme.

Work is set to begin from today until Thursday, March 28, between 7:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.

Passage through the area will be restricted to pedestrians and local and emergency access will be facilitated where possible.

MTW says motorists approaching Highway 7 from Oistins will divert at Cane Vale Road to turn left at Maxwell Road, follow the road to Graeme Hall, turn left and head onto Top Rock Roundabout and continue onto Highway 7.

Road users travelling from Bridgetown along Highway 7 will be diverted at the Top Rock roundabout onto Graeme Hal, continue along the ABC Highway or turn right into Graeme Hall Park, follow the road to Maxwell Road, onto Cane Vale Road, and then re-join Highway 7 onto Oistins.

The public is advised that Transport Board will provide a shuttle to carry commuters between Oistins and nearby areas to Maxwell Del Mar Hotel.

The shuttle service will begin at 8:00 p.m. and will run as required and the last shuttle will leave Oistins at 12:30 a.m.

The buses will approach the Graeme Hall roundabout, proceed on the ABC Highway, make a right turn at the Kendall Hill Roundabout, and then rejoin Maxwell Road.

The buses will proceed to the top of Oistins Hill, onto Thornbury Hill, and make the right turn down to Oistins.

MTW and Infra Construction Inc. thank businesses, residents, and motorists for their understanding and cooperation.
