Senator: Support ‘employers who implemented’ COVID-19 directives

In his contribution to the Appropriation Bill, 2024, in the Upper House, Independent Senator, Andrew Mallalieu has asked the Government to openly support employers who followed the COVID-19 directives. 

He says if something is not done, it leaves employers vulnerable to lawsuits by employees. Referring to a recent case where the judgement was passed in favour of the employee, Senator Mallalieu says the Government should consider legislation to this effect.
