There’s some much-needed relief coming for people who lost their jobs when Barbados went into lock down last year.
Labour Minister Colin Jordan says they will soon receive the severance payments due to them.
He was speaking during Debate in the House of Assembly yesterday, to discuss a Resolution on Recapitalizing the National Insurance Scheme.
Mr. Jordan says former LIAT workers who contributed to the NIS, and the first workers who appeared before the Severance Payment Tribunal, should start to see some payments by next month.
Meanwhile, the Minister has also revealed that the matter involving Accra workers should also be resolved by next month.
