The Hilary school term got off to a good start from all indications.

The Barbados Union of Teachers says there were no reports pertaining to challenges from its membership.

General Secretary, Herbert Gittens wants the trend to continue.

In welcoming the recent showers, he hopes this will help quell some of the dust and reduce the incidence of bush fires that impacted schools last term.

Overall, he is encouraging students to work hard given the importance of the Hilary term.

The BUT is in support of the just introduced National School Nutrition Policy.

Mr. Herbert says teachers will provide the advice and encouragement to their students in a bid to get them to embrace a healthy lifestyle.
