There are doubts the social compact can hold out against external pressure much longer.
This view was expressed by Pro-Vice Chancellor for the Board for Undergraduate Studies at the University of the West Indies, Professor Justin Robinson.
The first compact was implemented for the period July 21, 2022, to January 31, 2023 and extended to ease the burden on consumers because of surging prices as a result of inflationary trends taking place internationally.
