St. Philip residents recognised for service to Barbados

The contributions of five outstanding Barbadians have been acknowledged and applauded by the St. Philip Parish Independence Committee.

During the 2nd Piece of the Rock ceremony recently held at Three Houses Park, philanthropists John and Betty Marshall and 93 year old retired educator Carl Springer were gifted portraits and unveiled the rock which bears their names and cements their contribution to nation building.

Sons Eric, Steven and Michael of the late Alston and Beryl Mason accepted on their behalf.

Senator John King lauded the parish ambassadors for recognizing the lifelong service of the awardees and encouraged Barbadians to embrace the institution of family.
