Barbados’ Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley is in support of the creation of a Global Coalition for Social Justice.
She signalled her commitment before the “World of Work Summit 2023: Social Justice for All” hosted by the ILO in Geneva, Switzerland.
The Global Coalition for Social Justice will act as the accelerator for the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
It will do so by mobilising actors in the multilateral system to better align their actions with social justice objectives.
During her address, Ms. Mottley told those present social justice must be the core driver as there is no other choice for the sake of humanity.
She made a plug for small island developing states, noting that while it is an exciting time to be alive, there is still a lot to worry about.
