Veteran Entertainer and Founder of the Richard Stoute Teen Talent Contest Richard Stoute, may be recovering from illness but his friends, family and colleagues are seeking to ensure that the competition he has organised for decades, will still take place as planned this year, despite his current absence.
Speaking during a press conference, Stage Manager and Co-Producer Rashida Codrington says while they’ve encountered some challenges with the absence of the Teen Talent Founder, the entire team has rallied to the cause.
She says this year’s Teen Talent Contest will feature 21 participants; five more than last year, while the over-21 competition will feature 11 contestants. The first four shows will be held at the Daphne Joseph Hackett Theatre, while the finals will be held at Mr. Stoute’s alma mater St. Leonard’s School.
Meanwhile, Stoute’s son, Barbados and West Indies Cricketer Kevin Stoute gave an update on his father’s condition, noting that the teen talent founder was in very high spirits when he visited him in hospital.
