The Barbados Meteorological Services is giving updated predictions for storm activity expected during the hurricane season.
Acting director, Brian Murray told the People’s Business the forecast is for 12 to 17 named storms.
He says between five and nine of those could become hurricanes, with one to four major cyclones.
Now while the figures suggest it will be a near-average hurricane season, Mr. Murray explains that El Nino could affect these predictions.
