There is a suggestion Barbados needs more community-oriented programmes that are transparent to erase much of the suspicion and mistrust between the police and the communities.
That is the view of Acting Superintendent of the Barbados Police Service Derick Bobb, in his address at the Prince’s Trust graduation ceremony.
Acting Superintendent Bobb notes that policing is much more than solving crimes and responding to accident scenes. He says having a vibrant community social workers’ programme is paramount.
