The Transport Board has been making preparations to transport thousands of school children when they return to the classrooms from next week.
Chief Operations Officer, Lynda Holder says the board’s primary responsibility is to ensure students are moved back and forth in a safe manner.
The Transport Board is improving its communication and inspectors will also be deployed to four rural schools to manage and monitor the bus service.
These are Darryl Jordan Secondary, The Lodge School, Grantley Adams Memorial and The Alleyne School.
Ms. Holder says major maintenance has been carried out to ensure the buses are safe.
