June is Gun Violence Awareness Month internationally and to mark this, the Tyrese Caesar Foundation against Gun Violence recently held its inaugural 5k walk and run.
The foundation, established after young Tyrese Caesar tragically lost his life to gun violence last June, aims to empower communities, educate young people, and advocate for policy and social changes that will reduce gun violence.
Chairman Jacqueline Caesar, says the charity walk was a community engagement event intended to raise awareness for a cause of national interest – maintaining peace in Barbados, particularly among the youth.
She says the event was a success, and is appreciative of those who have expressed support for the charity’s efforts.
