Workers at UCAL – the United Commercial Autoworks Limited – are to see a 10% increase in their wages as of month end.
This was revealed by Barbados Workers Union Legal Officer Alexandria Thomas who says this 10% increase effective March 30 followed successful negotiations with management of the company.
Ms. Thomas says backpay dating back to 2018 was paid and now the BWU has turned its attention to finding swift solutions to a number of health and safety concerns.
Meanwhile, Senior Bodywork Man at UCAL Jamal Noel says the workers are happy that they have finally been able to reach an agreement.
