Police are at the scene of an unnatural death at a residence in Chalky Mount, St. Andrew.
The deceased has been identified as 51 year old Matthew Felix Moore.
Police say the report of the incident was received about 5:45 this evening.
It stated that Moore, who was at his residence, went to his vehicle which was experiencing some mechanical problems and removed a concrete slab on which it was propped to stop it from rolling backwards on the uneven and sloped terrain.
However, the vehicle started to roll back, and Moore reportedly held on to it from behind in an effort to stop it.
The vehicle’s momentum pushed him to the ground and it ran over him, before travelling about 30 feet along the yard and plunging into a 7 feet deep ravine.
Ambulance personnel responded but found no sign of life.
A doctor subsequently visited the scene and confirmed the death.
Police are investigating.
