Police have confirmed that 23 people were injured in Monday morning’s mass casualty in Prospect, St. James after two minibuses collided in wet conditions.
Nine were seriously injured, with three in a critical condition, including one driver, who sustained leg injuries.
Police Communications and Public Affairs Officer, acting Inspector Rodney Inniss told reporters at the scene those three with the most serious injuries were taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital at Martindales Road, St. Michael, while 10 were getting treatment at the Brandford Taitt Polyclinic at Black Rock, St. Michael.
Others opted to seek private medical attention after mass casualty protocols were activated and emergency personnel including police, fire, ambulance and defence force responded.
