Preparations are advancing as Barbados prepares to co-host Exercise Tradewinds 2024.
Tradewinds, which is scheduled for May 4 to 16 and will be held under the theme “Tailored By the Region, For the Region – Promoting a Secure Caribbean, 2024 and Beyond”.
Dozens of countries and organisations, comprising military and law enforcement personnel are expected to participate in various aspects of training.
Acknowledging the changing world and the region playing host to Cricket World Cup 2024, Captain Shane Drakes of the Barbados Defence Force says their expectations are based on providing the necessary security.
Barbados previously hosted Exercise Tradewinds in 1992, 2003, and 2017.
The BDF meanwhile is inviting interested individuals to register as volunteers for various role-play scenarios during Exercise Tradewinds.
