After political scientist Peter Wickham was fired from Starcom Network as a moderator on Monday, he told CBC News he was disappointed with the manner in which the severance was handled.
The separation was the result of he and a caller having divergent views while he was hosting an edition of the Down to Brass Tacks programme.
Mr. Wickham, who moderated the talk show for over a decade said he was not licking his wounds for being axed, but his disappointment was over the position Starcom took without any dialogue with him.
When asked for a comment on the matter, Starcom’s Station Manager Anthony Greene said the radio company would not comment on matters relating to individuals whose services the company had contracted.
He added that Down to Brass Tacks was committed, at all times, to allowing varying views to be shared in a way that enabled people to think critically and discuss solutions.
