Another life has been lost on our roads.
This time, 25-year-old Jakeem Romain Scantlebury-Bishop of Indian Ground, St. Peter.
The Barbados Police Service said that the crash which took his life occurred around 12:30 a.m. today, Sunday, October 15, 2023, along the Warleigh Section of ABC Highway, St. Peter.
Involved was one motor car which was travelling north along the highway when the driver, Scantlebury-Bishop, lost control and ran off the road into a bushy area on the left of the carriageway.
Jakeem Romain Scantlebury-Bishop was pronounced dead at the scene by a medical doctor and identified by a family member.
His passenger complained of pain in his neck, back and shoulder and was transported by ambulance personnel to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for treatment.
Investigations are continuing.
