CMC – At least one body has been recovered and 15 others rescued after an over crowded boat capsized 12 nautical miles off the coast of St. Kitts early Tuesday morning.
The St. Kitts-Nevis Coast Guard is assisting in the search and rescue operation for the 32 people that were on board the 30 ft vessel Jenna B, that was reported to be en route to St. Thomas from Antigua.
Media reports said that the vessel was spotted capsized with people clinging to the hull by a passing luxury sail boat which lent immediate assistance.
The incident is reported to have occurred at around 3:00 am (local time).
