With the University of the West Indies facing a 50 million US dollar shortfall in its budget, Barbados and the region have been told this deficit will not deter or weaken the institution’s role.
Vice Chancellor, Professor Sir Hilary Beckles, during the annual meeting of the UWI St. Augustine Council, says plans have been devised by Campus managers to cover the budget shortfall.
Sir Hilary says no matter the financial situation, UWI will continue to strengthen and enhance the academic output of the University.
