Police at the Central Station are conducting investigations into the circumstances surrounding the death of Tony Layne, of Piper’s Avenue, Bayland, St. Michael.
Layne’s unresponsive body was discovered floating at Brownes Beach, Bay Street, St. Michael around 5:35 a.m. today, Tuesday, September 26, 2023.
The Barbados Police Service provided further details in a press release:
“On the mentioned date and time a group of beachgoers who were swimming noticed an object in the water floating and upon further investigation, discovered that the object was a human body.
“One of the male beachgoers then pulled the body out of the water onto the sand.
“A Medical Doctor pronounced death at the scene and the body was identified by a friend.”
Police did not state the age of the victim.
