7 athletes meet CARIFTA standards

Athletes continued their preparations for the Powerade/Dasani Water BSSAC Championships and the CARIFTA Games with some excellent performances at the just concluded Louis Lynch Championships.

Among the athletes achieving the CARIFTA times was Aniya Nurse, in the Under-17 Girls 200 metres with a clocking of 24.55 seconds – the standard was 24.60 seconds.

Meanwhile in the Under-20 Boys, Aragon Straker equalled the standard in 21.40 seconds, while Amani Mascoll-Beckles dipped under that mark clocking 21.32 seconds.

Also making the CARIFTA standard was Fynn Armstrong in the Under-20 Boys 5000 metres.

The Girls Under-17 800 metres, Ashlyn Simmons and Chanecia Bryan of Elite Distance, and in the Boys equivalent Favian Gollop of Tallons met the standard.
