A brace from Shanice Stevenson saw Barbados draw first blood in their two-match international Women’s friendly series against St. Lucia.
Playing in game one last night at the BFA Wildey Turf, the Bajan women defeated their visitors five goals to one.
Rianna Cyrus and Cheyanna Burnett-Griffith scored in the 27th and 34th minutes, and then Stevenson booted two goals back-to-back in the 36th and 43rd, as Barbados led the first half four-nil.
Anacia Small gave the home side its fifth goal in the 83rd minute, but the visitors finally managed to pull one back via a penalty taken by Arnicka Louis in the 89th.
The second and final game is set for tomorrow at 6:30 p.m.
