It was not the fairytale ending Barbadians were looking for but local surfer Josh Burke reached the final of the Barbados Surf Pro, QS 5000 event at Soup Bowl in Bathsheba, only to lose out to American Crosby Colapinto.
Burke laid down a superb performance in the semis today with a tally of 14.50, but in the final, his two best waves totalled 13.84 compared to Colapinto’s 16.07, who took home 25 thousand US dollars and the trophy.
In the women’s section, Zoe Benedetto defeated Sawyer Lindblad in an all-USA final with a 12.53, compared to a 12.37 wave total.
