West Indies Captain Kraigg Brathwaite wants his side to play more test matches, saying that more red-ball matches for the team will lead to an overall improvement of the players.
The Caribbean side is set to face Australia for a two-match test series starting tonight, and the skipper has travelled to Adelaide with some new names in the squad, after senior members like Jason Holder and Kyle Mayers opted out, to focus on the upcoming T20 World Cup.
The West Indies Cricket team has had very little test involvement in the recent past, with only 13 matches during the 2023-2025 World Test Championship window.
Their six-match series in the World Test Championship cycle comprises only one three-match series, which came against England in July, 2023.
