Changes to senior women’s netball team

September 28, 2023

A major shake-up is brewing within the local netball circle as several executive board members in key positions have reportedly resigned ahead of an annual general meeting of the Barbados Netball Association set for November.

CBC Sports has been reliably informed of the changes and temporary appointments as the senior women’s national team prepares to depart the island on Friday to compete at the Eastern Caribbean International Netball Series.

The tournament is slated for September 29 to October 8 in St. John’s, Antigua.

There is also news that veteran Defender Shonette Azore-Bruce has come out of retirement and is expected to be a key member of the team.

The full squad reads: Faye Agard, Shonette Azore-Bruce, Latonia Blackman, Trishan Deane, Trinity Gibson, Shonica Griffith, Brianna Holder, Dei Padmore, Stephian Shepherd, Jada Smith, Sabreena Smith, Damia Walrond and Kijana Johnson.

The management team consists of Head Coach Denise Alleyne, Manager Denese Morgan, Trainer Dennis Callender and Technical Director Pamela Hesson.
