China, Barbados outline plans for new National Stadium

Phase one of work on a spanking new, modern national stadium is expected to start later this year and conclude around January 2024.

This is according to Minister of Sports, Youth and Community Empowerment Charles Griffith, who was speaking at a media briefing on Friday at the National Stadium.

The Minister toured the current facility with a high level technical team from China which is tasked with the demolition and re-construction of a state of the art facility.

He added that it will be a joint effort between Barbadian and Chinese workers on the project, and will come at no expense to Government.
