September 15, 2023

Defending Champions Jamaica Tallawahs lost a fifth straight game in the Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League on Wednesday, for the first time in their history.

The Tallawahs crashed to a seven-wicket defeat against hosts Guyana Amazon Warriors.

Sent to bat at providence, the Tallawahs made 152 for five in their 20 overs.

Captain Brandon King top-scored with 52, while Dwaine Pretorious took two for 33 for the Warriors.

Saim Ayub and Matthew Nandu then put on a 112-run opening stand to steer the Warriors to an impressive victory.

Ayub led with 85 and Nandu 37, as they raced to 155 for three with nine balls to spare.

Warriors, who have won all seven of their games, have now qualified in the top two for the playoffs, while the Tallawahs are now in a three-way battle for the remaining two spots.
