Harris retains his title as BFA president

April 8, 2024

Veteran administrator Randy Harris was returned to the helm of local football last night when the Barbados Football Association held its annual general meeting and congress at the Wildey Turf.

Harris, the incumbent, scored seven more votes than his challenger – former national goalkeeper Omari Eastmond, to narrowly secure his fourth consecutive term as BFA president with a 37-30 victory.

Following a three and a half hour long tension-filled meeting, Harris emerged as the winner just before 8 p.m.

Harris, who also serves as President of the Caribbean Football Union and who’s also a Concacaf Vice President, outlined his vision for the future… and hinted at this 2024 to 2028 term being his last.

In other BFA election results, Chief Executive Officer at the Transport Board, Fabian Wharton, Captain Al Walcott and Ashton Chapman totalled 40, 24 and 17 votes respectively to be elected as vice presidents.

Tracia Forde, Wren Ramsay, Simeon Alsopp, Obrien Smith and Shamika Estwick will serve as executive board members.
