Barbados’ indigenous sport road tennis was part and parcel of Europe Week celebrations recently.
To mark the occasion EU Ambassador to Barbados Malgorzata Wasilewska played an exhibition match against Member of Parliament for Christ Church South, Ralph Thorne, at the Dover Community Centre in St. Lawrence Gap.
That game was followed by five matches as part of the Barbados-European Union Road Tennis Youth Invitational.
Ambassador Wasilewska said road tennis has a special place in her heart.
The Ambassador added that the sport will get an added marketing boost in the coming months.
Director of Sports at the National Sports Council Neil Murrell said the partnership between the EU and the NSC is strong.
