It was a proud moment for Barbados, after Bryce Turton won silver at the inaugural Pan American Taekwondo Union Infants Championships, held recently in Sogamoso, Colombia.
Competing in the Pre-cadets class for 6-7 year olds and the Male Under 27kg division, Bryce was denied the gold medal in the final showdown after a split decision by the judges of 2-1, went in favour of his Colombian opponent after all scores were tied at the end of the final round.
His father Henderson, who is also President of the Taekwondo Association of Barbados, said Bryce put in a lot of work at training over the past two years and it is beginning to pay off.
