Barbados’ draughts Grandmaster Jack Francis, wasn’t able to do the teaching he promised whilst at the Kenya Open.
Francis finished a disappointing 11th out of 34 players, with just 18 points.
Reports are that he has vowed to return next year to redeem his image.
The winner was Africa’s top player and defending champion, Grandmaster Crispin Odhiambo with 27 points.
Francis and Odhiambo never got to face off against each other, as the tournament was played via the Swiss system and not a round-robin format.
