Barbados has two finalists at the ongoing World Athletics Championships.
Top Barbados female quarter-miler Sada Williams is into the final of the Women’s 400 metres at the championship in Eugene, Oregon.
Last night in the semifinals, Williams was second in Heat 3 to be an automatic qualifier and the fourth fastest overall, clocking 50.12 seconds.
The winner was Marileidy Pauline of the Dominican Replublic in 49.98.
The Women’s final is set for Friday at 10:15 p.m.
Meanwhile, top Bajan male 400 runner Jonathan Jones, is also through in the Men’s equivalent.
Jones was third in Heat 3, clocking 44.78 to be the sixth-fastest going into the final.
He was also the fastest of the two non-automatic qualifiers.
Winning that semifinal was Champion Allison of the United States in 44.71.
The Men’s 400 final is also Friday, at 10:35 p.m.
