Sent into bat at Kensington Oval in the 2nd match, India were bowled out for 181 in 40.5 overs.
Gudakesh Motie snapped up 3-36 and Romario Shepherd 3-37.
In reply the Windies reached the target on 182-4 in 36.4 overs.
Captain and Player of the Match Shai Hope led from the front with an unbeaten 63, and Keacy Carty 48 not out.
The pair shared in a 91 run 5th wicket partnership.
Kyle Mayers chipped in with 36, while Shardul Thakur took 3-42 for India.
The third and final match is set for Tuesday at the Brian Lara Stadium in Trinidad.
