Barbados’ Men made a winning start to the 2024 Caribbean Table Tennis Championships in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
The men’s team of Mark Dowell, Tyrese Knight and Tre Riley blanked their Jamaican opponents 3-nil, before edging Trinidad and Tobago 3-2.
However, in the quarterfinals on Wednesday, Barbados lost to Guyana 3-1.
Knight was the lone winner, taking out Eli-sha-ba Johnson in three straight sets.
In the women’s team competition, Kenady King, Athonette Riley and Qodesh Weekes lost 3-0 to Guyana as well in their third group match.
