Wright hoping for podium finish

Tomorrow’s World Triathlon Americas Cup will be a very important race for leading national triathlete Matthew Wright.

A podium finish will cement his ticket to the Paris 2024 Olympics, and the prospect of achieving that on home soil is one he relishes.

Much hasn’t changed in his preparation, as it was just about building on his success from last year.

36 elite triathletes from the Americas are set to compete tomorrow on the Mighty Grynner Highway from 7:00 a.m., as they seek to increase their point scores in the ongoing Olympics selection process.

The registered start list includes 23 male and 12 female athletes from Austria, Canada, USA, Peru, Hungary, Spain, Netherlands, Grenada and Barbados.

Five Bajan athletes are down to face the starter.
