228 new cases of COVID-19 have been diagnosed out of the 2,531 tests conducted on September 30th, 2021.
This number represents the highest daily total recorded in Barbados since the beginning of the pandemic.
The new cases comprise 103 males and 125 females.
60 of the cases are individuals under the age of 18, and the remaining 168 are 18 and older.
The number in isolation is now 1,080.
Barbados has recorded 8,609 confirmed cases of the viral illness since March 2020.
The public health laboratory has performed 320,277 tests.
A total of 136,034 first doses have been administered under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19. To date, 105,881 individuals (39.1% of the population) have received their second dose and are fully vaccinated.
