PM Mottley recognised as a Champion for Global Change

Hon. Mia Mottley, SC, MP, Prime Minister of Barbados, accepts the 2022 Champion for Global Change Award from Elizabeth Cousens, UN Foundation President and CEO at We the Peoples on November 3, 2022, in New York. Each year, the UN Foundation hosts its Global Leadership Awards to recognize extraordinary individuals and organizations whose work embodies the values and purposes of the UN.

Another global recognition for Barbados’ Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley, as she has been named a Champion for Global Change by the UN Foundation.

The award was presented at the 2022 Global Leadership Awards in New York.

Ms. Mottley was recognised for her exemplary leadership in fighting for a just, equitable and sustainable world.

She was presented with the Champion for Global Change Award by President and Chief Executive officer of the UN Foundation Elizabeth Cousens.

Other awardees included social activist and actor Forrest Whittaker and climate change justice activist Mia Kami, who were presented with the SDG Vanguard Award.
