There were 474 new COVID-19 cases (197 males and 277 females) from the 1,291 tests carried out on Tuesday, August 9th, by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

The cases comprise 67 people under the age of 18, and 407 who are 18 years and older.

The number of people in isolation facilities was 65, while 3,807 were in home isolation.

The public health laboratory has conducted 739,048 tests since February 2020, and recorded 96,350 COVID-19 cases (43,628 males and 52,722 females).

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the total number of people with at least one dose is 163,015 (71.4 per cent of the eligible population). The total number of fully vaccinated people is 154,127 (56.9 per cent of the total population or 67.5 per cent of the eligible population).

The eligible population represents those who are 12 years and older.
