Officers of the Barbados Fire Service are this afternoon undergoing critical training in how to deal with electric vehicle crashes and fires.
Speaking during the opening ceremony Home Affairs Minister Wilfred Abrahams said as Government rolls out its strategies aimed at reducing the carbon footprint in the environment it is imperative to acknowledge the challenges and potential risks these initiatives pose to first responders.
Especially in managing incidents involving electric and hybrid vehicles.
He says the training is aimed at the safety of the officers and he gave some insight into what the course is about.
