Call for support in regional healthy eating efforts

Barbados wants support for the Caribbean in providing healthy foods for the region.

Director of Government Analytical Services, Beverley Wood urged the Food and Agriculture Organisation to place greater emphasis on strengthening laboratory capacity to analyse the nutritional content of foods.

The call was made on day two of the 38th FAO Regional Conference.

Ms. Wood, in welcoming the FAO’s development of the Food Control Assessment Tool, says the country looks forward to guidance in its use.
