Catholic clergy, laity, and other faithful converged on the St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Cathedral in their numbers for the Chrism Mass – one of the most solemn services of the liturgical calendar.
During the service, traditionally held during holy week in every Catholic diocese, holy oils used for sacraments and rituals were blessed and consecrated.
Bishop of Bridgetown, the Most Reverend Neil Scantlebury reminded the clergy, their hands are sacred and true instruments of God’s love. He urged them not to be sidetracked from doing God’s work.
Reverend Scantlebury wants the clergy to be role models noting the priesthood needs more young men and women.
