Government Minister, Sandra Husbands says the island’s co-operatives have proven to be resilient over the years despite challenges.
The Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Business made the comment as Barbados joins other countries across the world to mark International Day of Co-operatives.
The day is being observed under the theme “Co-operative: Partners for Accelerated Sustainable Development”.
Speaking at a village fair hosted by the Department of Co-operatives in Golden Square, Ms. Husbands told Barbadians the movement remains relevant and necessary today.
She wants local co-ops to embrace digital technology.
