The Barbados Agricultural Society has expressed concern about the fluctuating weather patterns and the impact on crop and livestock production.
The issue has been raised by Chief Executive Officer James Paul.
Mr. Paul believes this is a sign of the times and problems lie ahead for farmers.
He believes financial support for the community should not de delayed as other countries around the world are assisting their farmers.
Given the financial constraints, the BAS boss hinted at the possibility that some may be on the verge of going out of business.
