Barbadians are being told there is evidence Government’s efforts to prevent serious crime have been bearing some fruit.
The news from the Minister of State in the Office of the Attorney General with Responsibility for Crime Prevention, Corey Lane.
He made the comment during the Public Affairs Department’s “One-On-One” programme, aired on CBC TV 8, noting there has been a very noticeable reduction since the peace pact between the island’s two main gangs earlier this year.
Mr. Lane says with the best will in the world and the best programmes and initiatives there will still be isolated incidents, but their effort is to aim for perfection.
He has also identified other types of crime that are getting a lot of attention, specifically robberies.
