If Barbados exceeds its projections for cruise passenger arrivals this winter season, a new record will be set.
That is the word from the Minister of Tourism and International Transport Ian Gooding-Edghill. He says the projection is for a close to one hundred per cent recovery of pre-pandemic levels for the upcoming cruise winter season.
Minister Gooding-Edghill, who led a delegation of tourism and port officials to Seatrade Europe in Hamburg Germany, made the remarks as he disclosed the major highlights coming out of discussions with some of the top UK and European cruise lines and suppliers.
Minister Gooding-Edghill also praised the efforts of the Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc. team in Europe, for its success in negotiating airlift beyond the winter season. He noted that this has tremendous spin-offs for the industry and the economy as a whole.
