There’s a view Barbados needs a cultural shift in the way it views sexual crimes, particularly those involving children.
It’s coming from Clinical Psychologist and Assistant Lecturer at the UWI Cave Hill, Dr. Catherine Trotman, who is worried about the incidence of child abuse.
She says Barbados needs to move past the culture of silence surrounding sexual offences.
Dr. Trotman also notes the fallout from these crimes can be lasting.
