Digital transactions coming under attack

Barbadians are being warned devices used to support digital transactions are now coming under attack.

Managing Director and Principal Security Consultant at CariSec Global Incorporated, Edward Millington wants people to always be alert.

He revealed on CBC TV8’s Mornin’ Barbados that digital wallets are being accessed and unauthorized persons accessing crypto-currency.

With the embrace of digital technology and recent ransom attacks in the Caribbean, cyber security experts are working to ensure Barbados is aware of the risks.

The country was told cyber risks rose with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic where businesses were thrust into the online realm.

Mr. Millington wants businesses to strengthen their digital transformation process.
